I wasn’t expecting to get a round of applause for the one rehearsed answer I gave during this panel. I think it may have been the first time I have gotten an applause like that for anything in my life 😂 I saw the question “what advise would you give entrepreneurs” on the pre-show sheet and was extremely apprehensive, so I just followed that feeling and gave my answer. “I was debating how to answer this question beforehand, and I am extremely apprehensive in giving anyone advice. I think you really need to know someone intimately to give any advice of value. There’s an entire economy of self help that revolves around learned helplessness. People spend thousands of dollars seeking advice from people they look up to, and the best advice they could give them is “stop looking for advice. You know what you need to do, so stop looking for permission and just fucking do it” I really wasn’t expecting that sort of response. I may start giving advice more often.
